Risk & Security Operations
Juan Hernandez has over 10 years of experience in corporate security. As a Senior Consultant on BGI’s Risk and Security Operations team, Juan serves as an intermediary and liaison between BGI’s clients and their contract security vendor to ensure greater efficiency and success for their physical security programs. Juan specializes in drafting security post orders and other safety policies for our commercial and entertainment clients to ensure all security teams have the information, policies, and procedures necessary to run their day-to-day operations.
In addition to his role as a Senior Consultant, Juan is a part of BGI’s vulnerability assessment team and frequently travels to conduct safety and security assessments of movie studios, academic institutions, residential properties, and commercial buildings. Juan also oversees and manages multiple teams of security officers while they ensure the safety and security of BGI’s clients during large public and private events.
Prior to his current position with BGI, Juan spent three years working as a Corporate Security Officer for the second largest home loan company in the country. During this time Juan was responsible for the safety and security of more than 2,500 employees. In addition, Juan supervised a security team of five officers responsible for patrols, property access, and CCTV monitoring. Juan and his team also led employees in emergency evacuation drills and building safety exercises in addition to training the company’s Emergency Response Team (ERT). In this role, Juan received a commendation after his quick thinking and resourcefulness allowed him to extinguish a potentially disastrous fire.
He is currently attending California State University, Dominguez Hills, and pursuing a B.A. in Sociology. In addition, Juan is a certified OSHA Safety Manager. Prior to CSUDH, Juan wrestled at the collegiate level for Santa Ana College where he earned the title of 2013 Southern California Regional Champion. That same year, Juan also earned All-American honors at the California State Championship.
